When the Storm Rips Through
A heart that trusts God completely? What does that look like? How does that flesh itself out when things seem grim and problems overwhelming? Mothering has had it's ups and downs, especially lately. The only way I can describe it is a term I concocted (so don't google it): bipolarism motherhood. Let's just say it's been a bumpy ride recently!
How to Change the World from Your Living Room
Change the world from your living room? How is that even possible?
When I think about world change I quickly think - having a huge platform, starting an organization to feed the hungry or rescue women who are sexually exploited. As good as those things are, and I greatly admire and pray for those who do have that kind of impact.... the truth is the average woman does not have a huge platform and is not the founder of a world impacting organization.
When God is Silent
I know God speaks. I've heard His voice; not an audible voice, lest you think I'm crazy, but without a doubt, God's sweet voice.
He has spoken to me in the still small voice. He has spoken to me in times of prayer. He has spoken to me through His precious Word, through messages and people. At times His voice seems to scream out from the heavens....times when His word is pouring out revelation and illuminating my path. Then there are the times of desperation, and silence.
Silence the Lies
A lie crept into my head, a whisper at first, "your ministry is done." Then the whisper seemed to shout "the best is not yet to come, quit sharing your story, it's old already."
The thing about a lie is it starts off small and can grow if you don't demolish it. The lies seem to taunt me in the mundane of my day, "You are common, a dime a dozen. Shut up already. Slow down, stop fighting, you have no voice."
